Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, interpreting accounting transactions, reconciling general ledger accounts, and providing timely and relevant analysis and reporting to management in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of financial Statements for multiple entities, including analyzing account activity, recording journal entries, and reconciling the general ledger;
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses;
- Responsible for preparation of monthly work papers to support financial statements and review and analysis of annual audit documentation;
- Analyze financial statements and prepare summaries for annual reporting;
- Work with, communicate with, and support other departments cooperatively and effectively;
- Support sales and use tax compliance;
- Support Capital Expense and Fixed Asset management through reporting, budgeting, capital project close out, and fixed asset internal audits;
- Assist with physical inventory;
- Ensure personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed;
- Perform other required tasks and analysis as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
- Minimum of two (2) years of public accounting or accounting experience required;
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
- High degree of accuracy;
- Strong attention to detail and organization;
- Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF programs;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff;
- Ability to convey information effectively and clearly both in both verbal and written form;
- Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative;
- Must be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling of obligations;
- Must be detail oriented, results oriented and able to embrace and adapt to change, along with the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere.
