Overview

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, interpreting accounting transactions, reconciling general ledger accounts, and providing timely and relevant analysis and reporting to management in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of financial Statements for multiple entities, including analyzing account activity, recording journal entries, and reconciling the general ledger;
  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses;
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly work papers to support financial statements and review and analysis of annual audit documentation;
  • Analyze financial statements and prepare summaries for annual reporting;
  • Work with, communicate with, and support other departments cooperatively and effectively;
  • Support sales and use tax compliance;
  • Support Capital Expense and Fixed Asset management through reporting, budgeting, capital project close out, and fixed asset internal audits;
  • Assist with physical inventory;
  • Ensure personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed;
  • Perform other required tasks and analysis as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
  • Minimum of two (2) years of public accounting or accounting experience required;
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
  • High degree of accuracy;
  • Strong attention to detail and organization;
  • Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF programs;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff;
  • Ability to convey information effectively and clearly both in both verbal and written form;
  • Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his or her own drive or initiative;
  • Must be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling of obligations;
  • Must be detail oriented, results oriented and able to embrace and adapt to change, along with the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere.
