Overview
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the human resources department as needed, including record-keeping and file maintenance.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions;
- Conducts new hire orientations;
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files as needed;
- Assists with new-employee background checks and new hire orientation;
- Assists with locker maintenance and uniform requests;
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process;
- Participates in company recruiting events on site and off site as needed;
- Makes photocopies, mails, scans and emails documents, and performs other clerical functions;
- Files documents into appropriate employee files;
- Prepares correspondence as requested;
- Prepares new-employee files and closes out terminated employee files;
- Covers the front reception desk as needed;
- Perform other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- At least one year of related experience required;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Microsoft Teams;
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus;
- Ability to work in a team environment.
