Description
The Manufacturing Technical Writer is responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, instructions, SOP's Policies and Procedures in a GMP environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams;
- Translate complex technical information into user-friendly content for various audiences, including manufacturing operators, technicians, and engineers;
- Work closely with engineers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather information and verify the accuracy of technical details;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between documentation and actual manufacturing processes;
- Regularly review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in manufacturing processes, equipment, or procedures;
- Ensure that documentation adheres to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines;
- Conduct thorough reviews of documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency;
- Participate in quality control processes to identify and rectify errors in documentation;
- Develop training materials and documentation to support the training of manufacturing personnel;
- Provide support during training sessions to ensure a clear understanding of technical information;
- Organize and maintain a centralized document repository to facilitate easy access to relevant technical information;
- Implement document control procedures to manage revisions, approvals, and distribution;
- Performs other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (Engineering, Technical Communication, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a technical writer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
- Technical writing and editing skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Time management and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of how to read prints and translate into work instructions.
- Good organizational, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of documentation methodologies and requirements.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
