Overview

The Cable Technician will be responsible for the Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure;


Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to understand and interpret low voltage blueprints;
  • Ability to properly ground and bond equipment / IT racks
  • Responsible for the Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure;
  • Pull, route, and terminate various types of cables, including Ethernet and fiber optic;
  • Perform site surveys to determine the best installation route, methods, and estimate materials needed;
  • Terminate RJ45 via CAT5E/6 in accordance with industry standards;
  • Configure IP cameras and Access Control Systems;
  • Install and terminate fiber optic cables via fusion and mechanical Splicing;
  • Ensure all cables are neatly routed, dressed, and bundled;
  • Perform installation of cabling support components such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct;
  • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational;
  • Troubleshoot device and or cabling issues;
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installations;
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times;
  • Perform other required tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Excellent customer relationship skills; verbal and written.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Self-starter, able to work independently or with a team;
  • Knowledge of Axis IP cameras and Exacq network recorders;
  • Data Cable Technician with CAT5e/6, fiber optic, and network experience;
  • Experience identifying, installing, and repairing infrastructure cabling;
  • Experience in low voltage cabling, smart hands network replacement, telephony, CCTV, and point-of-sale equipment is a plus;
  • Available to travel internationally;
  • Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, working in closets, rooftops, and construction sites;
  • Ability to work in small spaces;
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs;
  • Ability to operate a lift and complete work at heights;
  • Have basic telecommunication/hand tools networking equipment;
  • Experience in conduit installation is a plus;
  • Must have Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no restrictions;
  • Must have reliable transportation.
